Varsha Ramgopal, Founder and teacher of Bharathanatyam at Shri Sharadha Kala Mandir has been learning the artform for over 17 years. Starting her thattadavu at two, she completed her Arangetram at fifteen under Gurus Smt Sherin George and Smt Chitra Nair in the Kalakshetra Bani through the diploma course in Bharthiya Vidya Bhavan. She has always been passionate about the mystic Indian culture and it's rich heritage. Through Shri Sharadha Kala Mandir, she makes it globally accessible and hopes it inspires many others to pursue and learn about the many nuances of the culture.

According to her,

"I saw the misinterpretation of the beautiful culture that is prevalent in India amongst other countries and our own people. That was something I wanted to change. There is so much to be said, seen and felt.

 My relationship with dance can be compared with that of a lover. I've had various emotions towards it (Bharathanatyam), be it joy, anger or sorrow and it has been far too many times in the receiving end. The power it had over me made me breathless and weak kneed. I wanted to share that and I hope that through this organization we promote and teach, and with that learn and explore our culture and artforms."
